This recipe is really a hit after I tried it at home. This is packed with full of flavours and nutrients too. I got this recipe from a person who is almost 90 years old. After he tried the chow mein original chinese recipe he gave me this recipe describing how tasty and easy this recipe is. Really I love this recipe and you can change the meat to chicken or any other if you are not a beef eater.
Old Fashioned Chow mein
Ingredients
- 250 g Beef Mince
- 3 Cups of cabbage
- 1 onion sliced
- 1/2 cup celery
- 2 cups green beans
- 1 carrot diced
- Salt & pepper
- 1 Packet chicken noodle soup
- 1 tsp stock powder or a cup of stock water
- 3 tblsp rice
- 1 cup water
- 2 tblsp oil.
Method
- Add oil in to a pan.
- Add celery & onion and cook several minutes.
- Add minced beef and brown the beef.
- Then add the rice, carrot and the beans and a tsp stock powder.
- Add water.
- Cook about 15 minutes.
- Add the cabbage and chicken noodle soup and cook several minutes.
